In Columbia some ass is producing a comic book in which Pope John Paul II is reborn with superpowers to fight Satan, after a little tutelage from Batman and Superman.

“He isn’t John Paul II any more,” Leon said. “From now on, he’s the Incredible Popeman.”

Could modernity sink any deeper into banality?
